Yes sorry another one of these threads.... But think about this for a second, let's say santa.... I mean God was real. God created everything so why would he create gay people? Also since they are gay, they are going to burn in hell for all eternity, so why are you putting so much effort into killing them and making their life so miserable. At least let them have some fun before that happens. And the most important thing I've been dying to know, how does that person being gay affect you? Unless you are closest gay. Even if all your neighbors are gay, I doubt they are doing anything to bother you. I'm just tired of the religious republican nut jobs bringing their fairy tales into the government and other bullshit they think is real. Oh and I almost forget, the "gay people must be put to death" is in the OLD testament. And I won't go into how they all break all the other laws in the bible but just decide to cheery pick at it anyway. |

Apology accepted. Gay people are not separately created from other people. We are all just people. Why the dissonance? Gay people are going to burn in hell for all eternity? That is not for YOU to judge. If you carry on about religious people and their judging, why are you judging? Why are you judging religious people in even a worse manner than the way you say they judge gay people? Other people being gay does not bother me at all, I have gay friends and work colleagues who I treat them as they treat me. As a christian, I am not allowed to judge them. Gays DO bother me, when they self-righteously come into my church and my children's schools and DEMAND that they take over the church and ram their Marxist-infested ideologies down our throats under threat of legal action. Cherry picking indeed. |
idk about you but the closer a girl gets to looking like ronald mcdonald, the more aroused i become. CAV where can we cast our eyes to @PoruMairu who thinks of himself a member of the true church. Helion. |

Sorakaa said: let's say santa.... I mean God was real. HAHAHAHA. I apologize, but I love religious jokes. xDDD Ok, back to topic, being religious =/= being a homophobe. My mom is catholic and she accepts gay people. However, I do agree that using religious arguments to "prove" that homosexuality is wrong isn't the best option. The Bible is full of contradictions itself, so knowing what "God wanted" is quite difficult. |

I wouldn't say He "created" gay people, but rather, they chose that lifestyle on their own and made their own choice. You're born a gender, not a sexuality. |

When it comes to LGBT, there are only 2 things I will stand my ground. 1 is asexual and pan does not exist. 2 is LGBT can't have gay church weddings. Civil weddings is fine. Other than that I'm in favour of gays as a whole. The whole fear thing stems from traditional paranoia anyway. |

I have no idea. Probably one of the reasons I've slowly backed away from my religion. My thing is, its their life, so it doesn't pertain to me. Why would I waste so much energy showing hatred toward strangers? If you go to heaven, good for you, that's all that should matter. |

In my philosophy class, there was a theory that you have free choice, it's just that whatever choice you choose, God know's what's ahead. Like if someone is watching you make them a bowl of cereal, they know you have to put milk and cereal in there, but you choose what comes first. If you decide milk first, then that person knows the cereal comes next. Something like that. Sorry if that's confusing. |

Natural disgust in most cases. That's why gays and other different sexualities have been looked down upon throughout history with only mild forms of pederastry being accepted. You'll find the same response for many things considered unnatural. As for religious reasons, it's usually the same thing why other sexualities and attractions like pedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia, and things like promiscuity and prostitution are frowned upon. Also, depending on which one you are referencing, it doesn't say gay people go to hell, but those that practice homosexuality. You can have an attraction and not act upon it, which many seem to forget or just be ignorant or stupid about. |

A lot of this unneeded hate from both ends comes heavily from people not being educated in what they're talking about. Speaking for Christianity's sake, we believe in "hate the sin, not the sinner". We don't hate gays, we just see it as a sin. However, in the end, we all commit boatloads of sins, so there's no reason to hate gays for that. Hell, there are plenty of Christians that are homosexuals themselves. As for those against Christianity, remember that your real enemy are the extremists, not the religion itself. RedRoseFring said: Religion is a fantastic excuse to act on this feeling as well. Natural disgust in most cases. I mean I'm not gonna lie, as a straight man, two dudes doing it grosses me out, but that's the extent of my negative feelings towards homosexuality. |

Why would anyone choose to be gay? Especially in countries where you get killed for being gay. Are you even gay yourself? It's a pretty well-known fact that most homosexuals try to suppress their homosexuality and try to force themselves into being straight, but then give up because sexuality isn't a choice. |

They hate us because they ain't us. On a more serious note, it's just a justification for disliking something they don't understand and thus fear (consciously or not) which I guess is understandable to a certain extent, though that doesn't justify willful ignorance, much less blind hate. Frankly as long as they let me be I've got no quarrel with them. Gem said: Sure, in the bible that would seem like how it was phrased, but in real life people don't choose to be gay. If someone is bisexual then they have the choice between being gay and being straight, but most of us have one sex we are able to romantically attach to and are not emotionally able to do the same for the other sex. If you truly believe that being gay is a choice then choose to be gay. It isn't a choice if you aren't able to make it. For one week only find guys attractive and try to ask one out. If you are unable to do this then it proves that you cannot choose to be gay or not. Just like how no one in their right mind would choose to be autistic or a pedophile out of their own free will one would choose to be gay if they didn't have any genetic predisposition towards it. If you're told to choose between pushing a red button and a blue button but with the way the buttons are positioned you are only physically able to put the blue button did you really have a choice?I wouldn't say He "created" gay people, but rather, they chose that lifestyle on their own and made their own choice. You're born a gender, not a sexuality. Also, please remember that there are many gay people who still marry someone of the opposite sex because of social pressure. There are some people I know who have even had kids and then divorced to marry someone of the same sex. This isn't just about the choice they make. If they've already married a woman why can't they simply choose to love women? They're already married to one, but they're not able to love them romantically in the same way they love men. There also used to be a common rule "all priests are gay" because priests aren't allowed to marry anyone which works perfectly for gay Christians because their only other options would be to not marry despite not being a priest, which would seem odd, or to marry a woman they can't love. |

Let's not forget the gay priests that assfuck little boys... My uncle is literally traumatized (homeless now) due to those bastards. I think religion holds society back as a whole. Those who face reality and know they will die try to get as far as they can in life. On the other hand, those who think there will be peace in heaven and all might want to just like a nice peaceful life. I will explain more if someone wants, but I want to stop before I start offending people too much. |

Sexual Preference is not merely a choice, but an affirmation of one's natural preference in sex. You can delude yourself into willing to participate on a homosexual relationship, but you will eventually feel whether you're really into it or you don't. It's just a matter of taste, after all. No, homosexuality is never caused from volition, it is actually biologically proven that there are homosexuals, quite an anomaly in the genetics part. But it's still all natural. So you can argue that "God created homos" since it came from natural genes, if you argue that God created genetics itself. It's also the same things as the problem of evil: Why God needs to make such a justice system which you gain some sins then you'll be condemned to death, or somewhat a reward by following his rules and earn the treasured paradise... is there really a point, if he's benevolent and merciful to all of us? Why do the religious need to honor such a God of consequences if he had his motive of making our lives shittier and painful? We ought to riot against him, after all. He created us without our consent just to be judged because... he created us. tl;dr... well the religious are just as stupid as their God. |

In the past, gay people were shamed because they were a dead end genetically. Before society was prosperous enough to have pension systems and such, people had to have children to take care of them when they got older. If they didn't have kids of their own, they would become a burden on society. It was also good for the economy when people had lots of kids. More workers, more productivity, more prosperous society, more comfortable lives. |

Natural disgust is only through smell and taste because your body is naturally repelled by certain things programmed into your dna. All other forms of disgust are from your thought process and are not natural because much of it comes from environment rather than genetics alone. I didn't mean physical disgust, I meant "natural" in the sense of an expected reaction to things considered gross or unnatural, whether physical or mental. It should be clear that most disgust with gay people is mental since they've most likely never seen any gay acts themselves. It's the same way someone would be repulsed by the idea of eating nasty stuff they've never seen or smelt before, or stuff like furries, etc. |
