This was probably the best anime episode I've watched so far. So many twists, the never ending tension, and how things actually seemed very realistic although they weren't..(you know, you don't go and jump off a cliff just to go along with the group, but that's how our satou-kun is-_-)

And the weeping part in the end was really awesome. The seiyuu did an amazing job there, both of satou and misaki. I was laughing hysterically as i watched the part they were crying, must be because of all the tension i guess..

Love it! absolutely love it!

and I was also a big fan of "akachan ningen" but this new song kinda fit in more with this episode's gloominess so it was also good..

lol yamazaki just said a few words and he decided not to jump lol

after misaki's speech he was done with killing himself and was just pulling an act as if he really wants to die, that's why yamazaki said "that's enough" or sth like that which was pretty funny^^

This episode was indeed intense but the ending confused me whether i should laugh or cry it felt to me like a narm. But when satou fell frome the cliff that was definitely a 'oh SH-' moment.

Can you say "lame cop-out"? How about "extreme strain on credulity"? I can say both of those things. And this series just lost some grounding in my book.

No matter how I look at it, I felt like this episode was a retarded-let-down one for me. First of all Satou didn't even killed himself when he had no goals and was a full-load hikikomori, when he didn't even knew that Yamazaki was living next to him. Then now out of nowhere, right up when he had this shining light of creating a game (He had found something to believe on, something that gave him strenght to keep going straightforward) he sudenddly realizes that his life is trash when hes at the verge of death without even wanting to.

He lied to everyone until the moment they were going to jump, HE FUCKING DIDN'T WANTED TO DIE YET HE WAS GOING TO.

What a patethic human trash, he had so much potential to become someone else and the writters just screwed it up all, it was totally unlike the character to want to kill himself, an extremely unpredictable change of mind out of nowhere. The writters screwed it up. Horrible... but very horrible episode.

You have to be pretty stupid to stay quiet in that situation, probably Satou wouldn't even protest if someone forced him to suicide agains his will.

How he managed to not say anything at all for so long was a feat of stupidity.

Don't underestimate the power of peer pressure... also, he might not have thought of it himself but he was pretty close to that type of thing himself, I think, which is what Yamazaki was talking about in the car.

I thought it was the opposite of disappointing, I liked that no one jumped, I was relieved. Isn't it obviously better this way?
I'm not entirely sure about the old man, though - I guess he can't do it in this situation, but was he really convinced?
Btw - that kid was really going to commit suicide over something like that? Hmm...

I like the new song too, I think - I'll know better after a couple more episodes with it.

That's what I thought would happen, especially when someone mentioned how surviving a fall like that could only happen in manga and dramas. All I thought was that it'd be perfect he fell during an anime! haha!

I also really liked the old ending theme more.

Yeah agreed i thought he would fall and survive. i also like the old theme better, but this ones okay, not as cool though. loved the episode, it's scary how much i can relate to the characters. can't wait for next episode.

My heart stopped a couple of times ("Shit! It really is over! They will fall down!").
Touching and great ep. Yamazaki was the best, when he was explaining to Sato that they can't die in such a dramatic way xD
I was waiting for Misaki's "I love you, Sato!" but it would be too lovely and tragic I suppose ^^

I actually had tears at the end of this ep (manly tears though!). I feel I can relate to a lot in this anime, maybe thats why I find it to be such a great anime. I smell another 10 if it keeps going like this.

I loved it, I almost cried myself when Satou and Misaki were crying at the end.

I've had a life like Satou's til very recently, with 28 months like that so I feel this anime relates very well to the me of just last month.

I had thoughts kinda the same as the others when things went wrong for me but it gave the right message that if you dont keep living, how can you know what is around the corner for you?

For the love of God and all that is holy, Satou is the most useless character ever!! LMAO

Heh, he's the freaking star of the show, and he was not the one to dissuade them from suicide. And even when the rest of the group have decided against it, he again would do it just cause Hitomi was pulling him along? And even when Misaki and Yamazaki manage to convince him not to do it, he accidentally slips? And then what, he cries like a bitch! Ha! Totally fucking useless IDIOT!!!!!

5/5 for epic uselessness!

Misaki seems to be pretty much of an asshole. She needs Satou to feel better because he is a bigger fail in life than her? D:<

Also they changed the OP a bit (old was better) and, fuck no, the ED is complete new. I will listen to the old ED on YouTube now... (But I guess they changed it too fit the mood, but still, the new one is bad.)

Awesome episode to say the least.
During the first part I thought that Satou was going to grow a pair of ball and save his senpai while everyone else jumped off the cliff. But everyone came to their senses and that Satou wasn't involved in that disappointed me.

Also, the sudden (and pretty funny) turn of events of Hitomi getting proposed, while stopping her from suicide, leaves Satou, the only guy that didn't want to end his life, ready to jump in an instant.

Nice Ending song.

Haha, I was like, "Oh, they got talked down..." and my heart actually skipped a beat, I think when he went "ALRI-" and fell. I was just in shock... And then I saw his hand gripping the cliff... Then it was just dissapointment.

Surviving that would have been freaking epic.

I disliked this episode quite a bit. Then there were that scen where Satou realise that he wanted to die.

I wanted Satou to hug Kashiwa when she was standing on that cliff, but he didnt...
Instead he realise that he's trash. Which both Misaki and Kashiwa confirmed with their actions. I felt kinda sad for those pathetic girls and I even cried for my failed superhero.

The amount of irony and dramatic tension in the last few episodes were incredible. Starting from the rising actions where Satou discovered Misaki's secret, to the failure in relationship between Hitomi and her bf (forgot his name), and finally to each person's realization about life, the entire arc is kept in suspense. The ending was also powerful.

Misaki's speech was surprising to say the least. Here's to hope for more episodes like these

lol at the guy's proposal to Misaki. If I were Satou, I'd probably want to jump, too, considering how attached he is to her.

I'm surprised no one commented on the "new" OP song. Same song, just with guitar backing instead of brass. If you think about it, this version really reflects the direction, this anime might be headed: A little less on the goofy tones, and a little more serious.

I just finished this episode and I see a lot of people had a "feel" for this episode and I just cant say the same. Everything that lead up to the ending signaled something dramatic was gonna happen, but it just want there for me.

The way the episode was executed kinda annoyed me/pissed me off. I guess its more of Satou than anything. Like dude knows he wants to die, but carries on like its nothing. Then after the bf proposes to Hitomi, he decided to kill himself. Like cmon. And the crying at the end? God damn, are you even more of an idiot?

I couldnt tell if that whole scene was suppose to be a funny moment or some soft/sad moment.

I was waiting for Satou to speak up and start going off on everyone before the jump, but the guy in glasses did it instead. That was suppose to be Satou! At least I think he shouldve been. I guess the series had to be extended in some way.

Not sure what the writers were thinking doing this episode.

The series so far is great though. Definitely relates to life.

Edit

Whoever mentioned Narm is spot on. This episode has Narm written all over it.

"Let's get married!"
"WOAHAAAT!? Alright, that's it! I'M DYING!"

It's kinda funny at how the suicide party did a complete reversal. I was also expecting an accidental fall, but the slip made my heart skip a beat at how quickly it happened.

And crap, that yell at the end was incredibly gut wrenching. I really feel for the man.

This episode reminded me of Chobits. In chobits the teacher the main character likes stayed at his place for the night being all friendly and drinking just to run off with another man the next day.

In this chase it was Hitomi and Satou And Hitomi ends up with another guy.

This episode could have ended the series and I think it would have been a GREAT ending. Satou should have jumped and died. When he jumps he should have said I love you to Hitomi and she would feel like crap like she should.

I knew I wasn't going to like Hitomi from quite early on and I'm pretty sure Satou will end up with Misaki. I don't like Misaki, I think Hitomi would have been a better person for Satou to end up with tho I hate them both. But most all anime/manga are the same so I'm still waiting for a merical.

LAME HITOMI, YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO LIKE THAT GUY! Getting married WTF?! You were supposed to be with Satou!! T_T
Misaki's speech to Satou ... WTF?! She's crazy, man. They better not end up together D<
Glad the other guys decided not to do it either. Looks like they will join the show?
OP sounds really similar (almost the same actually) just no trumpets? Shame. New ED is pretty nice :D

I completely agree with you!! But you can tell who he will end up with from the start of the show. It's pretty much a rule of thumb the first female character to be introduced in romance/harems is the one to be chosen. no matter how lame there personality is or how long the male character has loved another woman. His feelings will changed in an instant. >_<

I'm only going to finish this show in hopes of seeing Satou NOT end up with Misaki. Or have Satou. Misaki or Hitmoe die. not that they will since this isn't a tragedy.

Wow... Just wow...

What person would commit suicide just because he's too timid to speak up O.o.

I didn't like the fact that he was suddenly all melodramatic and serious about jumping himself. Cmon man, pull yourself together.
Misaki's speech was kind of double-edged. Not the best way to persuade someone I suppose.

It also felt quite f*cked up that Hitomi would drag him into this situation and totally use him as an excuse to commit suicide herself, and then totally turn his back on him, because her boyfriend proposed to her. That is just dark.

Finally done ranting, still love this anime though. You almost forget that you are watching an anime at times.
